When they found out about the share by Mraz who has 938,000 Instagram followers, West and Moran took to the couch, staring at the screen that seemed to come alive the power of social media and fame combined. It was so exciting, said Moran. It was an internet frenzy. We sat there refreshing

Within five seconds, over 1,000 people followed Mrazs lead, liking the necklace, not for sale. Its one of Morans own pieces. Within 24 hours, almost 18,000 people liked the photo and over 500 people started following the textile artist online. There were comments totaling 203.It was awesome, said Moran. If nothing else, we had the excitement of being seen by so many people.More than anything, the credibility of such recognition gives Moran an extra incentive to keep crafting.

A Sarnia, Ontario native, Moran started out making galvanized steel jewelry eight years ago while travelling throughout the United States, Mexico and further down into Central America aboard the school bus where she lived. Now nearing 26-years-old, she laughed talking about that time in her life.

Today, a Nelson girl for almost four years, her line has expanded to include a variety of products from felted hats, clothing made from reclaimed wool sweaters and macram jewelry that she describes as friendship bracelets on steroids.

Learning most of her skills from online tutorials and practice, her creations are all about letting them become what they want to be.I can never really make what I think I am going to make, she said of her macram jewelry. I just keep going until the flow makes sense.

Some plans are deliberate, however. Moran originally met Mraz many years ago.Shed hoped to see him in concert in Jamaica and had made him a macram bracelet of mostly pinks because it was around the time his 2006 single Geek in the Pink came out.Moran returned home to Sarnia with braids and a sunburn as well as the bracelet because the promoter cancelled the concert. A frustrated young woman wrote the musician a letter scolding him for not appearing. The next time he met me,We deal with various stainless steel jewelry and stainless steel rings. he remembered,This handsome link tungsten bracelet for men is constructed in maintenance-free tungsten. she said with a smile.

It was shortly after her 18th birthday and Moran caught up with Mraz in Detroit. Today, the internationally best-selling musician who has his own clothing line, Blend Apparel, has two of Morans bracelets and three felted hats.I was going to gift the hats to him but he insisted on paying me for them, said Moran. He wanted to support my art.

He was adamant on paying Moran a price similar to that of a hat hed recently purchased at Barneys, an American chain of luxury department stores selling designer clothes. For Moran, it felt rewarding to have her craft measured among top designs.Tucked away out of the fashion forefront, Nelson has been a wonderful place for Morans creativity to flourish with the support of partner West, a musician understanding of her starving artist days. Working out of their home, four 10 to 12 hour days on a piece is the norm.

If we look back in 2003, there was hardly any South Asian event of this type in this area to bring about the community together, celebrate the culture,Wholesale stainless steel pendants and steel jewelry line with bold new designs. spread love, affection and harmony and encourage the local talent to showcase before the people, says Rajesh Anand of West Windsor, one of the founders of the event. It was with this purpose, we launched Indo-American Fair to celebrate India.

The Indo-American Fair has become an institution of art, culture and heritage of South Asia in New Jersey. Since its launch the fair has had phenomenal success, seeing a growth in vendors and audiences each year.

The first fair was held in 2003 at Durga Mandir, a community center and place of worship on Route 27 in Princeton. The turnout of the visitors and response of the exhibitors was so phenomenal that the place fell short of the space to host an event like this. As a result, it was moved to the Mercer County Park.

We are grateful to all the vendors, artists, participants and audiences that have shown the appreciation for the event by their attendance year over year from various parts of the country including as far as from Texas and even from Canada and India, Mr. Anand says. We invite everyone from all parts of the communities to be part of Indo-American Fair and enjoy this outdoor event while shopping, enjoying the food and entertainment.
In view of the many facets of the fair and presentation of varied art and culture activities during the festival, the fair essentially has prompted the responsiveness of the needs of local, regional, and other communities.

This is one of the best events for the people of South Asian descent in the U.S., which continues to garner more and more support from people and the corporate world, Mr. Anand says. This year, too, the event is being planned in such a way to surpass the records of previous years and make it vibrant, entertaining and pronounced. Hence, the Indo-American Fair has established itself as the premier cultural entity in New Jersey among the community over the years.

The event will feature many cultural performances, displays of traditional and contemporary Indian dresses, jewelry, costume jewelry and modern.

Entertainment abounds this year, with one of the biggest attractions being the dance competition in junior and senior categories. There also will be a karaoke competition, Bollywood and ethnic dances, live singing by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and singers Harini Vasu and Suresh.

There is also a special segment for kids performances on the stage. Many leading schools of New Jersey are taking part in dance performances and competition, Mr. Anand says. The popular dances would be Odissi, Bharatnatayam and Kathak all classical performances and presenting true heritage way back from India right here in New Jersey.
